DJL Trading Int'l, is a "private dealer" with our showroom located on Manhattans'
East Side. Before you buy or sell anything call us for the best possible prices
available anywhere.
In the late 1970's and early 1980's glass art designed by Rene Lalique separated
itself from all other glass makers. Various Lalique Auctions appeared starting with
Philips, which were solely dedicated to Rene Lalique works. The trend still continues
today with Lalique auctions being conducted from
Bonhams in London,
Christies in New York,
Christies SK in London, the
Drouot Auction House in Paris, and
Rago Arts and Auction Center
in New Jersey.
When buying at these Lalique auctions always take into consideration the condition of
the Lalique piece, as this can dramatically reflect on the value. Also keep in mind
buyer commissions of between 20 and 25% which are standard.
Currently the highest price ever paid at a Lalique auction was for a "Lalique Fountain"
which DJL Trading Int'l successfully bid and purchased for
$1,100,000 in November of 1991!
Todays prices remain strong for Rene Lalique works in glass as well as his jewelry. There
continues to be Lalique auctions worldwide for Rene Lalique's glass works.
I've shared my "twenty years of expertise" with many Lalique auction galleries:
Sotheby's,
Christies, Philips, W.
Doyle and Bonhams. I've
also worked with numerous museums, the
Lalique Company in New
York and Paris, major corporations, as well as, interior decorators and retail
dealers worldwide. I have private clients in... Argentina, Brazil, Canada,
England, Germany, Italy, Japan, New Zealand, Switzerland and Taiwan.
I have displayed my Lalique art pieces in many museum exhibitions including the
Museum des Arts Decoratifs in Paris; Cooper Hewitt Museum of Design in New York;
Smithsonian Institute Washington
D.C.; the Museum Bellervive in Zurich; Museum Fur Kumst und Gewerbe in Hamburg;
Walters Art Gallery
Baltimore; Museum
of Modern Art Tokyo; the Mode Museum Belgium; the Mucher Stadt Museum and the
Lowe Art Museum in Miami.
I am always seeking to purchase single objects or whole collections of Rene
Lalique art. I am buyer, of record, of the highest price paid at an auction
for Rene Lalique objects. I have agents who help me in California, Canada,
Florida, Texas, England, France, South America and Japan who are available to
view your pieces. Unlimited funds and immediate payment are available.
I am also actively purchasing... Tiffany Lamps and Glass by Galle,
Charder, Daum Nancy, Tiffany, Argy-Rousseau, Le Verre Francois, Loetz, Scheinder
and other fine objects from the Art Nouveau and Art Deco periods. I am also
purchasing bronze and ivory statues by Chiparus and Preiss in good condition.
We do look forward to hearing from you and sharing our expertise in collecting
Rene Lalique art, some of the most beautiful art
objects in the entire world.
